Last week, étoile polish teamed up with fashion label Novis to create a one-of-a-kind nail look for the brand's debut show at New York Fashion Week.

Combining "uptown elegance with downtown quirkiness," this NYC-based brand channeled classic Richard Avedon photographs from the 50's and 60's for their Fall/Winter 2013 collection – full of graphic prints in black and white, with bursts of poppy red and deep vibrant blues.

Mod manis!

To complement Novis's designs, manicurist Casey Herman created a minimalist, high-contrast nail look, using étoile polish – which is easy to recreate at home. She used three coats of étoile's snow white Asscher to give the nails a more opaque look. She then took small black crystals and applied them to the middle and ring fingers near the cuticle. The black crystals echoed the amethyst crystals that dotted some of the models' eyes.

I’m thrilled to announce that étoile polish is now a national partner of Brides Against Breast Cancer (BABC). This incredible organization is very dear to me, as my mother successfully battled breast cancer last year and benefited from the support of these types of organizations.

BABC contributes to programs for cancer patients and their families – with the ultimate goal of ensuring that everyone impacted by cancer has the resources and information they need in their battle.

And brides (you’ll love this!), BABC hosts over 30 wedding gown sales a year across the country, featuring dresses donated from designers, manufacturers, bridal shops and individuals. So you can find your dream gown – at an incredible savings! – while also contributing to programs that provide support, education and hope to men and women affected by breast cancer.

Whether you want to find a gorgeous gown or volunteer your time, check out their website to see how you can get involved:

I recently got engaged and feel blessed to have the chance to marry the person I love – who happens to be a man. However, I realize that today a lot of people still don’t have that same opportunity, including my own brother. That’s why the étoile team would like your help to create a unique nail polish color that will celebrate the promise of marriage for everyone. Because everyone deserves their special day to sparkle and a lifetime of love.
